There are a lot of pirate ideas on the internet. Check out this site: http://www.talklikeapirate.com/piratehome.html for some including a pirate talk translator. It also includes some ideas for the classroom.
You can give yourself a pirate name with this fun generator: Pirate Name. Here's mine.
To celebrate I plan to have my kiddos do some pirate themed math activities. Here are a few things I found. There are many more activities out there!
I also created some activities that we will be doing in math.
Pirate Math Activities includes:
*Pirate Riddle Page on Order of Operations
*Pirate Riddle Page on Adding & Subtracting Decimals
*Pirate themed Task Cards on Place Value with Whole Numbers & Decimals
Coloring with Order of Operations 2 includes 10 math problems and a pirate picture to color according to the answers.
Math Activities Packet 2 includes several activities but only one is pirate themed - One-Step Equation Match Up, a matching game where students solve one-step equations and find the puzzle piece that fits.
Will you be celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day in your classroom?
